Well, I was surprised when I started finding so many publications by Ciferri (who I hadn't heard of at the time), but The Dictionary of the Fungi says that he has more than a thousand [I don't want to even start doing the math on how many that is per year], so obviously I've only got the tip of the iceberg here. He went on collecting expeditions to Cuba and the Dominican Republic and published quite a bit on the fungi he found there, publishing also on yeasts, smuts, and fungal pathogens of humans.
