Leon Shernoff is a member of the Illinois Mycological Association, and currently its webmaster and program chair. He is trying to find some genus to learn thoroughly which (a) has a variety of species that can be found fairly regularly, but (b) doesn't have 500 of them.
He often serves as identifier on the club walks, and the picture shows him (at left) working hard at this, after one of our forays.
