The bump on a spore from where it was attached to its basidium. Snell & Dick (1957) insist that this is just incorrect, and the correct term for a spore with an apicule is "diverticulate". As far as I can tell, no one has paid any attention to them at all.
In this website, I have retained the more common notation.

This is Snell & Dick (1957) 's "correct definition". Apicule is a synonym, and apiculiform means with a little point.
