Diverticulate is Snell & Dick (1957) 's term of choice for a spore that has a prominent little depression and point where it was attached to its basidium. Note that this word is a different part of speech, so "spores diverticulate" would replace "spores with a prominent apiculus". He cites "Heim, 1931" in support of this, which I take to be R. Heim's (1931) Le genre Inocybe.
In this website, I have used the more common notation.
