Biography
Earle was the first mycologist to work at the NY Botanical Gardens, where he was succeeded by William Alphonso Murrill. The many keys he published seem to have been semi-popular works, aimed at the members of mushroom clubs. Bear in mind, if you look them up, that they are very short, and thus unlikely to have iron-clad descriptions.
